Let’s just start by saying that Dudley Lodge is not worth the hassle. You are better off going to court to fight your Local Authority without the added stress of defending yourself against Dudley Lodge. The nice members of staff can be counted on one hand!! If I didn’t have trust issues before, I certainly do now. The one thing you need to remember if you have an assessment here is: DO NOT EXPRESS YOUR THOUGHTS OR FEELINGS TO ANYONE!! The Managers all think that they can manipulate you because they hold a lot of power in what happens to you and your family for the rest of your lives but they do this in the most disgusting way ever. They will twist what has really happened and they will make it so difficult to prove. They will gossip about you in the playroom or the office when there are likely to be other residents walking through the corridor and hearing it. They will point blank make up lies about you. And the worst thing is; they will make you believe that they are there to help and support you in the initial meeting but will try and use every little thing against you whether you have done what they are alleging or not. Also, when you ask them to demonstrate something because you are a new parent or if you ask them for advice on something, they will either put you down about it and make out that you are some rubbish parent that doesnt know anything or they will happily demonstrate it but then when you carry this out whilst being supervised by another member of staff, they will often tirn around and tell you that you are doing the task wrong.
9 times out of 10, parents do not go home with their children. Power and control takes over management when you first get there and they make their opinions on you as soon as you first walk into the centre. You are instantly judged and this judgement will never go away.
